Has anyone noticed wav files play at a low sample rate (sound played a lower pitch than supposed) on Dimension 5100. I tried adding Config_Rates to the inf. file to no avail.

For the Dell Lattitude 620

I solved this problem by using the full version of the Sigmatel driver used by Gateway. After much trial and error. I found this download does the trick. I tried the hacks on other forums but the line monitor had no control. This driver allows for the line input to be setup for the microphone jack and/or stereo mixer.

A friend of mine provided me with this fix a year ago and I forgot where to download the driver, but I recalled it was a Gateway driver.

Best case scenario: It works for you and you don't have to do any hacks.

Worst case scenario: It doesn't work and just resinstall the old driver.

I actually installed all the Gateway Sigmatel drivers for XP starting at the top of their driver list until I found D00583-003-001.exe was the one that worked. If provides your laptop with full audo controls, you may need to activate some of the fuctions under volume control options.

Here's the driver download page: http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?param=sigmatel

If you decide to go the route I did and just start testing driver after driver make sure to download CCleaner just in case you run into a driver or program that doesn't want to unstall.

Trying to record my Grandpa's old radio stuff , he died saturday 12 13 08. I rarely if ever used the line in and discovered really fast that only the left speaker worked. Problem is, I'm in Vista Biz. The above driver doesn't work in Vista :( I do have a desktop that I used to run the audio line there using some long wire... but it would have been nice to get it from the stereo to the laptop. very short distance. It's a D820 Lat running Vista Biz. If there's any updates let me know. I'll keep looking. The above driver knocked the sound right out. Hopefully I'll g et it back.

I'm having issues with this as well, I'm running a Dell Dimension E521 Desktop with the STUPID Sigmatel HD Codec dealie.

I don't want to clunk down extra cash on a new soundcard if I do not know it's actually going to work, and I would much rather get what I've already paid for in the form of a FULLY functioning sound card.

I'm a musician and really really need the Stereo Mix function for my work!!!

Will this .ini fix work on an E521? I have spent a handful of hours trying to figure out way to work this out...

Please help! Greatly appreciated in advance!
